Small, Smart & Beautiful Energy Saving Tree

Wednesday 26th April 2017

This week we though we would post on a quirky energy saving device that could take pride of place on your desk, window sill or kitchen worktop. Apart from saving you energy when charging devices it would also be a great conversation piece.

The Solar Suntree from XD Design is not only practical but also an attractive piece of craft work. Being a tree it is fortunately carved from beautiful bamboo wood, which just calls out to be caressed - but once you’ve finished shooting it you can enjoy its looks.

The technical bit: the Suntree uses 9 solar leaves to charge a smart phone, MP3 player or other USB charging device, all using solar cell technology. It has a powerful 1350mAh rechargeable lithium battery inside, storing up that energy when sat there socking up the rays. It has an USB output and mini-USB input to charge up the battery at other times.

Smart and beautiful - what more could you ask for?
