BRICS Look to Green Energy and Improved Energy Efficiency

THE BRICS nations (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) have committed to promote clean energy and improve energy efficiency through cooperating with one another.

The resolution was made at the conclusion of a two-day international conference of the BRICS working group on energy efficiency in India. Delegates from all member countries participated in the meet.

The various experiences of the member nations were shared in promoting energy efficiency in the fields of agriculture, industry and in civic bodies by promoting LED lighting.

Development of the groups policies will be of interest to many others, as these nations are regarded as amongst some of the fastest growing economies in recent years, but that growth has often come at the cost of poor energy generation and energy efficiency.
