Global and National Energy Efficiency Funding Boost for ESCOs

INITIATIVES for energy efficiency from governments and even global bodies are funding many opportunities for enterprises in the energy saving industry.

The industrial countries often provide energy efficiency funding at regional and state level – generally supplemented and added to by national grants and initiatives.

For the second and third world, the energy efficiency funding is often fused with or by funding from global organisations such as the IMF or the World Bank.

As a prime example, firms in the energy efficiency sector can look to a $1 billion fund set up by the government of South Africa, African Development Bank, World Bank and the International Finance Corporation, among others, intended for investment in energy efficiency.

This provides such a powerful boost for energy saving companies in the Cape.

Similar schemes operate in many regions world wide, opening up business opportunities for those in the energy saving industry or looking to start out in this sector by providing funds for their clients to source energy saving solutions from them.
